Hi
At last I making some progress on the build of my S100 and would like to share this experience with other fellow S100 moddlers. At present the hull is together and engines in and tested. I have used three Speed 500s as I know these from building my previous boat the Graupner Wiesel and they are good.
Having constructed the main part of the pilot house with quite a lot of finger trouble as some of these parts are very small so twezers are a must. I have moved on to the removeable deck section which is now allmost complete. I decided to change all of the plastic rails to 1mm dia brass rod and made these by hand and a little solder. It is necessary to carefully drill out the blind holes to position these rails and once set cut off any unnecessary length underneath.
The appropriate colour is difficult to judge and here a fellow moddler Keef666 has been a great help not only with the colours but also with some very positive feedback and additional suggestions.
Some photos are either attached or may be seen in the gallery.
More later
