Hello All.

Today, I have received an early example of the proof from my publisher and I was very pleased by what I've seen. The photos I chose were very, very sharp and some, if not a lot, are in color.

Also, I have included some design drawings of the camouflage measures used on the boats as well. Some of these have color swatches with them and the color swatches can be seen quite well.

I've been told that the first printing run of the book will be as a hardcover version, but all subsequent print runs will be a paperback version, I will assume something akin to what Alan Raven's WARSHIP PERSPECTIVES are in.

I've been told that the hardcover version will be $10.00 more than the price of the paperback version will be, whatever that is. I don't know yet.

From what I saw today people; THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A SQUADRON "IN ACTION" BOOK! This is for real............. I love this new book people.

When I hear more, I'll advise you guys ...

As for signed copies, if any of you want one, when you get a copy, email me offsite ([email protected]) and I'll tell you where to send the books.

Also, if the book come out far ahead of it, I'm supposed to do a book-signing at the final reunion of PT BOATS INC in East Warwick, RI over the 4th of July weekend ...

Here's another update fellas ..............

Nimble Books just sent me another draft of the proof of my revised PT book, it looks stunning! I'm marvelling over it ........ I cannot believe that I did something like that, it blows me away. 172 pages all told ........ We'll be sitting on it for a week or two, to check for typos and the like ...

We're getting closer! I hope you'll like it guys ... I really put a hell of a lot of work into this one ... I think you'll approve of it. Heck, if it blows me away, it must be good. John Lambert says I can be my own worst critic ...

Indeed I did.

But, Mr. Zimmerman has told me that he can't do a book that size as a hardcover, oh well. It'll be paperback now, and will cost less than 40 dollars, more like $38 ...

Hello All:

My book is available at:

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/ISBNInquiry.asp?r=1&EAN=9781608880133&cm_mmc=Google%20Book%20Search-_-k118169-_-j14953980-_-Googe%20Book%20Search%20(non-B%26N%20Imprint)&IF=N

and ...

http://www.amazon.com/PT-Boats-World-War-1939/dp/1608880133

and here is a description of the book:

This is a comprehensive illustrated history of PT boats in World War II. The author, a lifelong student of PTs, briefly describes the pre-war experimental boat designs to give the reader a lead in to the war-time boats. He then covers the four classes of PT boats in service with the USN in World War II, describing the differences from boat to boat in detail.
Every weapon system used on board US PTs in WWII is described and discussed, from machine guns to rocket launchers. For the first time in any great detail, the author gives a history of the six known all gun gunboats which were converted from PTs (three Elco and three Higgins) and has both drawings and photos of these gunboats (including John F. Kennedy's PT-59).

Model-builders will appreciate the drawings that contain actual color chips for the various camouflage systems applied to the boats. There are also many color photos to aide modelers in painting accurate paint schemes. The author also discusses and identifies each of the radars used on PT boats in the later stages of the war.

A substantial chapter on operational experience discusses how PT boats were used in every theater of war, from Pearl Harbor to D-Day and beyond. Finally, the author provides the fate of every PT boat that now survives.

One hundred forty-eight photographs and drawings, full color interior.
