Hello,

My sister gave me PT Boats: Knights of the Sea for PC for my 50th birthday last week. I've got to tell you, it is an amazing game. I had to have a video card installed before I could use the game.

I am amazed at the quality of the graphics in the game. MTB-59 and 60, the two I've commanded so far, seem to be accurate depictions of the class(es) they represent, the S-26s I've encountered are excellent too. I'm looking forward to play other missions so that I can command a Fairmile "Dogboat" or the Soviet 80 foot Elco, ... I always wanted to command a 80 footer ...

The Liberty Ship that I had to escort in seemed to had been very accurate. I wonder if the software people visited the JOHN W.BROWN.

The only complaint that I may have ... is that there are no US PT boats or Pacific based missions - just the English Channel and the North Sea ...

But, still, it's an excellent game and I highly recommend it.

Sounds good Garth. I' haven't seen it in stores. I couldn't find any info online as to what the equipment requirements for the game are. Can you list them?

Probably too powerful for my old PC. Sigh... yet another reason to save for another PC.

Sure thing:

It's available through www.battlefront.com and according to the box, the requirements are as follows:

OS: Windows XP/Vista
CPU: Intell Pentium Duo
RAM: 512MB
HDD: 6Gb
VIDEO: GeForce 8800GFX
SOUND: Any card DirectX 9
DVD-ROM: 8 Speed
DIRECTX: v.10.0 and higher

Does that help?

CPU: Intell Pentium Duo

That lets me down right there. I'm still in the last decade, if not century, as to my computer.

I'll know what to look for on my next computer though.

Thanks.

All,

I have to say that I must amend my appraisal of this game. Whereas the graphics are excellent and all that, I have found some aspects of the game that I do not like.

First, the options as to how to play it. I've played other games where you could choose what you'd like to do, i.e.: INSTANT ACTION, SINGLE MISSION or get into a CAMPAIGN. And, where you get to choose what race car or plane you'd like to use. You cannot to that in PT BOATS: KNIGHTS OF THE SEA ...

In this game, you MUST successfully complete one mission before they allow you to proceed to a new mission. I've got to tell you, I've played this game MANY times since I got it. There is no way that you can win the first battle, attacking a German convoy with a SINGLE 70 foot Vosper.

Oh, I've sunk loads of cargo vessels and tankers, I've even sunk a few Destroyers and got lucky enough to sink 1 or 2 Schnellboote and I even put 2 fish into the BULECHER (sp), but have I ever successfully completed that 1st mission?

Um, that'd be a resounding NO. Why? It's frakking impossible. The briefing tells you that after you attack and sink the primary target, always one of the cargo ships or the tanker you are to proceed to Area G7 ................. WHERE is G7?

Well, according to the map? It's in the middle of the ocean. I thought I reached it once. BUT I WAS WRONG ...............

Has anyone played this game and won the 1st battle?

Oh, one time, I chose the German side and commanded S-26 and I thought I'd be like an OSS guy and use it to sink all of ships in the convoy, which I did, but I was destroyed by a RAF Spitfire. No joke.

I'm starting to HATE the game.
