I;m hoping someone can help me out here. I'm building the US Navy's USS ATKA, AGB3, out of the newly re-released Revell USS Burton Island. The Atka model will reflect a mid 50's Navy Icebreaker. The hull is prepped for painting but I haven't figured out what color to paint the hull below waterline. I know some are automatically going to say "hull" red, but I have images suggesting black and in fact I'm almost, but not positive, sure it is black: but I'm cautious. I'm building this for a friend of mine who was on the Atka in the 50's and want the paint correct if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Jim
