In your opinions what color, or mix of colors, should I use for WWll USN Deck Blue? Preferably using Tamiya colors.

You might like Tamies paint the best, But white ensign makes the best colors for ships. the website is www.whiteensignmodels.com if i remember right
the color coats paints are the best you can have, you can use the either brush or airbrush and they have colors for all era's of ships from before 1914 to present day. for all navies.
I use them with good effects.
Cheers,
Bruce

White Ensigns paints are all enamels ? - personally I have left that path some years ago an solely uses acryllics today, so a acryllic alternative is preferrable no matter how accurate or good WEM paint may be.
Anybody know a US conversion to known paint marks like Valejo, Lifecolor, Tamiya etc. ? I have a few US DD“s on the way.
Cheers/Jan

deck blue is a pretty dark color. I have mixed a navy blue with a light grey to achieve good results. I used the color profile sheet that seems to be included with the kits no days (i build 350)

I looked here: http://www.jpsmodell.de/katalog/jpsusn_e.htm and here: http://battleships.freewebsitehosting.com/Camo.html and found what I should have looked for first.

If you want to accurately match, then get the USN Paint Chip sets produced by Snyder & Short and you can mix & match using your favorite brand of paint.
NOTE: S&S also do sets for the RN, IJN, Kriegsmarine, and Regia Marina.
