When painting details in white I found out that it is not easy at all.
I did not find the relative information on-line and ended up spending about 100 pounds on various white paint. I tried it in acrylic and nitro and enamel and different techniques of multilayering and various makers like Tamiya, citadel and vallejo, revell.
However up to this point I am not satisfyed with results. I did not find my perfect white - which would be even, dense and thin.

Have anybody had the same problem and find a solution? Please, share it!

Hi Konstantin, for some reason the colors white, red, and yellow (in enamel and acrylic) are the most difficult to pain by hand and at times with an airbrush. Your best bet for painting white and having it come out nice and bright is to first prime the area with a neutral or bright grey color then airbrush the white over the grey. One article I read a while back, it was on a Gundam forum, was to add one or two drops of blue paint to an entire bottle of white paint to prevent the white from going brown over time. You can give that a try as well. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
R.J.

It seems to me just about all lite colors are hard get good coverage on when hand painting. It does help to use a lite color when priming. When you have a small item to paint white it is a pain just to airbrush that.

But I do like hint about the blue paint in the white.

Probably the best white for firs-time coverage is Floquil Reefer White, from their line of railroad colors.

I'll go along with RJ on this subject: grey ground coat and white layers on top.
Best results IMHO Tamiya acryl and Vallejo white model air.
Be very careful adding drops of blue to white paint: you could end up with a "Baby blue" final result, (as seen on a Smit Lloyd supplier in Aberdeen many years ago).
Just my 2 (Euro) cents,
cheers,
Julian

Good tips, thank you!

Have you used Gunze products?
I saw white base and also white primer. What is the difference?
Should it be used together?
