Hi folks,

One of the issues I had with the 1/35 scale Landing Craft was the lack of RN Markings for the boats.

I asked Marsuc Serria if he could do some art work for markings for the LCM 3, LCVP and LCA. After much hard work and a number of layout combinations we came up with a Generic set of mixed marking for about 4 boats of each type.

This is just a photo of the layout printed on a sheet of A4.

Dan Taylor gave a lot of input and I have asked Ray at Fantasy PrintShop to give me a price for a small run of 25 sheets, that being the minimum number.

The marking should allow for any combination of boat numbers for the 3 craft. I'm not entering into the manufacturing market here but if all goes well and the cost is reasonable I'd be happy to offer the excess of what I need at cost per sheet plus postage to anyone who suffered the same problem as me.

I've gone with the red only marking as they are in keeping with the D Day landings and the sheet will contain both large and small letter and number markings.

Cheers

Hi folks.

Finally I have some half decent decals for the boats. Marcus did the art work and in the end I got them printed by Fantasy Printshop. The A4 sheet contains both large and small marking with sufficient transfers for 4 x LCVP, 4 x LCM and 3 x LCA with any combination of boat numbers you care to use.

I have a limited number of sheets spare so if anyone would like a set they cost out at £5.50p plus P+P.

Fresh Application

These are a big improvement on the original botched together job I did.

Cheers

Al

Hi folks,

One day I will get these complete!! One step closer though, still need to repalce a Sten for a Thompson on one of the Commandows on the deck!

I add some small numbers to the stern of the boat but the decal film ineeds blended in a bit more.

Cheers

Hi Alan,
Very nice that LCM,it has had a hard life, decals realy make it special.
Seeing yours makes me want to finnish mine. It's standing idle for about 5 years.Your commando's are looking good to.
Would love to see some photo's of them close up.
The bren is resi-cast or just the aftermarket kit?

Hi Tom,

The original boats got started about 5 years ago:

This lead to these:

Then some of them got a load.

The Deep Wading Carriers are the old Tamiya kit with the Resicast conversion, which you can view here on page 3

One day they will get finished, the decals bring them one stage closer to that end.

Cheers
