Hi
Hoping someone here might be able to help. I'm after some info & pic's of the Steamship Cosmos. I've tried searching on Google etc with no luck.
I know it existed as My Mother say's that a relative served aboard the ship. I've a Cutthroat razor with the Ships name stamped into the blade. Other than this cant find anything about it.
Any help would be great as I was thinking of trying to get a model of it built for my Mum.

Hello Shaun,
Try looking at the Janes website( Janes Defense Weekly, Janes Navel Ships of the World, Etc.) I know they put out Merchant Ship Guide and they might have it in the data base. You can also try Lloyds of London, Thay might have some info also.
I am sorry I do not have any of the Merchant Ship books.
I hope this will help,
Cheers,
Bruce

What period are we talking about here? I checked my copy of Talbot-Booth's "Merchant Ships 1942" and she is not listed there.

Hello John
I'd say that it's Pre War as My Mother ( in her 70's) has a Cut throat Razor with the name stamped into the blade & She remembers it( when She was a kid) belonging to a relative. Cant find anything else when I've tried looking for it.

I know this thread is more than one year old, but anyway...

Here are some informations about a collier called "Cosmos" launched in Newcastle in 1918 :

Hi Frenchy
I'd almost given up on this. Looks like I should have looked under what it changed it's name to. Thanks for the info now to find a suitable model so I can put the Cut throat with the ship it came from.
I have to show My Mum the info & pic's, once again thanks Frenchy.
