Well with the Revell Type IX coming in November and this...
looks like I will have to start shopping for a bigger display case!
Just one observation, the hatch on the tower interior lacks mechanical detail and seems to have a simple molded on hand wheel. At this scale, it should not have been overlooked.
A little scratch building will easily correct this.

Now that looks impressive, always had a sorft spot for big kits of small submarines, this one is a must.

Yes, this is going to be a tough year on both our checkbooks and our shelves
Joe: Like I mentioned, there is going to "little" left for the AM to address. That hatch interior was the biggest thing that stood out to me as well. I had to look at it very closely to make sure that I was seeing what we both have concluded about it. I know many people are going to build this with the hatch closed, which makes it an ideal candidate for cutbacks which all manufacturers face to some level on each kit. As you correctly pointed out, it should be a very straightforward and easy fix.
