Hello from way ‘downunder’, I am trying to re-establish contact with John Elsy, the builder of the excellent model of Fairmile B class ML 268, one of the ill-fated motor launches from Op Chariot, the raid on St Nazaire, 28 March 1942. I'm not registered for 'kitmaker gallery' so I don't know how to attach a photo of his model.

I too am building a model of another of the ‘Chariot’ ML’s, mine being ML 306 which carried the heroic Sgt Tom Durrant VC who received his decoration posthumously on the recommendation of the commander of the German destroyer which Durrant took on with a twin Lewis gun.

I last had contact with John Elsy some years ago and know his wife’s name is Margaret and he lives/used to live in South Shields, Tyne and Wear in the UK. His email address and phone number are no longer valid, so I ask if anyone out there knows of him, could you ask him to contact me via a 'pm'?

Thankyou,
Roger Pearson.
Bendigo, Australia.
