Does anyone know of a Higgins LCVP that is relatively inexpensive?

This one is a little too salty for my budget. http://m2reviews.cnsi.net/scotts/misc/ships/lcvppreview.htm

I think Lindberg makes/made one, and it was fairly cheap.

I believe Squadron has this on sale right now for $29.99. I have heard this ain't such a great kit. I think a lot of folks have been saying to get the Lindberg kit, but it is a bit difficult to find but more cost efficient and the quality/accuracy is close to the Fonderie kit

I live less than a mile away from Lindberg, so I guess I could go down there and see what they've got.

Arznek, I'm sure you've already got it, but for others interested in the subject (myself included) take a look at the following link....Jim

I picked up a Lingberg D-Day LCVP kit (1/32 scale) right after the holidays at my local hobby shop for $16.00 U.S.

I haven't built it yet, but I have opened it up to check it out. (the smell of new plastic and all)

It seems to molded quite well, and even comes with 6 figures. The only thing technically wrong with it is that the 3 navy crew figures should be wearing some sort of lifevests.

Finally! The boat to save my dreams! I've always wanted to have the plastic LCPV but no one makes them. I guess Dragon should make one since their line of figs are very nice and I found Dragon kits very cheap.

The only way THAT is going to happen is if they put German crosses on it and include a red battle ensign, without swastika of course. Isn't it sad that compainies make every German tank, plane, or ship, even those that never rolled, flew, or floated, and yet an important boat like the LCVP is neglected? My rant for the day.

I 've wanted to do A Dieppe landing Dio and wanted to know if someone make a British version of this type of boat? It may be the same boat, but I recal the Brit. version having thicker side section enclosing the ramp.

I just got the Lindberg LCVP kit off of eBay for $5.50 + $7 s/h yesterday. I've built several in my lifetime, it is a decent kit.
