If you are painting a ship hull then Tamiya XF9 Hull Red
or Vallejo 146 Hull Red.
Both are acrylics but Tamiya is designed primarly for
airbrushing while the Vallejo ModelColor will brush
paint very nicely.
Cheers,
Joe

Vallejo modelColour sprays well too, just needs enough thinning.
LifeColour have some excellent hull colours too.

Julian

White Ensign Models do a really nice range of anti-fouling red for the various navy's of the world. I have built a few IJN ships lately and their IJN anti-fouling red is a much better match to the real colour than Tamiya's offerings (spray or pot) in my opinion The WEM paints are enamel and thin nicely for use in the airbrush.
