Following a request for pics of my HMS Primula, Flower class corvette. This was my second corvette, Bluebell was oob Matchbox kit, this kit I acquired free from a fellow club member who had plundered the kit for bits but the hull and most superstructure was still there. Primula is shown in a single photo in the Ensign book and the idea of a corvette with mainly AA armament for the Med seemed a good one. She has a 12pdr HA forward, twin Vickers K on the brige wings, Oerlikons in the waist, a quad Vickers 2pdr abaft the funnel and a Rolls Royce 2pdr aft over the depth charges. She has the short forecastle and an acoustic hammer over the bow.
Unfortunately, I sold her about 10 years ago and I have lost track of her. I have only these few pre-digital photos

Primula centre, Bluebell left, Balsam by Alan Robson right

Primula sailing, looks as though she is a little light at the bow, She proved an excellent RC boat like all corvettes

Thanks everybody, corvettes are still one of my favourite ships and the Matchbox kit was groundbreaking at the time.

Yes, these are awesome boats.

Would really like to see Revell scale one down to 1:144 scale.

Cheers,
Joe
