(I know, I misspelled the name of the boat in the title.) I've been building Trumpy's S-100 in 1/350 that I got a couple of days ago. I'm building it concurrent with my Fletcher build... hint... hint...

The kit is very nice... and small. I finished the assembly in two days total time only because I had some painting and took a short break for other things.

This is the finishing of the build. I had broken off the two square pieces at the stern of the boat so I had to fabricate replacements.
This is what I have so far:

Note the lack of two square-ish projections over the stern.
This is the fix for that:

And this is how it stands now:

Any comments? Suggestions on how to do those washes? I'm thinking of doing a black wash but I never had luck when I tried doing one.

Oil paint wash or MIG/AK ready mixed filters/washes. Take things easy and don't go mad and "drown" the build, at least not until you are confident with what you are doing.

Ahoy Mike,

Very nice build! a light dark black/gray wash will help define
the detail but don't over do it, in this small scale.

PS there is nothing wrong with your spelling... it is correct.

It is the name plate that Trumpeter got wrong...Schnellboote is
actually the plural of Schnellboot.

Cheers,
Joe

Thanks for the tips guys. And ok, wasn't sure of the spelling. Also, what was the usual uniform of the crew that manned the Schnellboot's? I tried searching for it but didn't really find much affirmative information that I'd be willing to go off of...

Looks good Michael.
At a guess I would say that crews would wear the same grey waterproofs that U-boat crews tended to wear when on deck. I imagine a lot of spray was blown over the sides when they were at speed in the English Channel.
