You will all be pleased to know that the WEM Colourcoats paint range has been acquired by Sovereign Hobbies Facebook page
They have acquired the remaining stock and will also restart production in the spring of 2015.

Great news! It would be even greater if somehow shipping overseas by air problem could be solved too.

Give these good folks your support. However, as far as overseas shipping is concerned, they will face the same problem that WEM did: IAtA regulations. I suspect they will have to resort to the same solution--use of a courier service certified for hazmat shipping.

Slightly off-topic, but it has been mentioned elsewhere today that the WEM PE sets and resin kits side of the business have also been successfully sold on to a new buyer who is not of the same company which now has the colourcoats paint range.

I missed out on 1/35o HMS Musketeer and the Black Swan class sloop kits in resin but now hope that I may get another chance to buy both.

After wondering whether or not those of us who bought the Trumpeter HMS Belfast,HMS Warpsite, & Tribal class destroyer kitss, and the Mirage range of 1/350 'Flowers' would ever again be in a position to enhance our kits with A/M accessories, it is something of a relief that we may now regain the opportunity to get some PE sets for these kits.

I now look forward to some kind of phoenix-like WEM rising from the ashes of the old!

Who has bought the resin and PE ranges?

No company has announced the purchase of the WEM resin and PE ranges although they have been brought. We need this new owner to come forward and say who they are so we can get the orders in.

I really really really hope someone will continue with the PE range, I tried to order the set for the 1:350 Trumpeter Roma and I found it weird that it was sold out, but now I understand why. Until now I have build all my ships with WEM PE and I hope I can continue to do so.
