Hi All,
Should hatches and the tops of all ready use ammo lockers etc. in the wooden deck sections of RN WW2 warships be in the metal deck colour (in this case Tamiya XF50) or the 'base' colour grey (XF80)?
I know the sides would match the relevant camouflage colour for that location.

Edit: the wooden decks will be unpainted (wood coloured)

Yes; the regs specified a colour for horizontal surfaces so the tops of RU lockers would be the same as the metal decks. There are photos of MTBs that show how fiddly it must have been, particularly where countershading of overhangs was also done!
