Hello,
I would like to know what the armament is on the front mounts of the U-models Lcm conversion
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/230753-u-models-um-248-lcm-blinde-french-indochina-conversion
Looking at te rear of the guns it looks like .50 Mg but if i look at the barrel ,could it be a water cooled barrel?
I tried contacting U-models but i get no reply
Thanks,
Maarten.

Hey Maarten,
I am certain no expert on these animals but I was able to dig up something about the LCM 3 and 6 (being they were classified basically as the same more or less)
Looks like the LCM 3 early on was equipped with two 7.62mm machine guns but was upgraded to a 20mm Oerlikon, two 12.7mm machine guns, two rifle grenade launchers. In the picture of the conversion, it looks like they have two 20mm mounts. Honestly, I don't think that would be out of the question knowing how field modifications go.

Hope some of this helps.

Hi Todd ,
thanks for your input and link ,
I found out The two rear ones are Brenguns
So the 12.7mm could be watercooled .50's
But not 100% sure about the front ones, 20mm are way to big for that position (i think)
Thanks

Those things look pretty big, so I wouldn't rule out the possibility of flame throwers. Some US river gunboats had them later in Vietnam. Always a possible in field modification.
My first thought was however watercooled 30's or 50's. Not easy to tell detail when your looking at a photo of cream resin parts.

On magnifying the pic i see the two grips the .50 has,
the barrel is thick enough
so i see why you might think Flamethrowers
Thanks .
