Ahoy Shipmates
Casting my mind back and reviewing my aged & fading memory banks I recall I have previously put together a number of historical articles with a naval focus for the benefit of the forum members.
At the time I believe the articles were popular and well received and I personally really enjoyed putting them together.
I also recall it was great to dust off the old writing skills again.
The catalyst for the latest idea and boost of enthusiasm was recently helping my son with research for his school History assignment.
I will confess that unlike my previous articles this is about a New Zealander (ambit Royal Navy WW1) focus however that does not make the story in my opinion of any less of value. I found it a totally fascinating yet sad story. I don’t want to tell you exactly who the individual is because that will spoil the anticipation.
I am planning to break the topic into three or so episodes to make it more readable & to maintain interest.
This is for the forums benefit and my only selfish request is that if its in order I would like to dedicate the series as a tribute to Mr. Colin Swager (a forum member here callsign cswager) who is the one of New Zealands top emerging modellers and is one of the most enthusiastic & talented naval modellers I have encountered plus he is one heck of a nice guy.
I only hope it actually gets to read and enjoy it. Don’t worry Colin is still well and truly alive and kicking and currently working on a very exciting model at the moment.
Is anyone interested in me putting something together and posting it here in the forum?
I trust it will be ok with the forum staff and management team as well?
Let me know what you think shipmates!
Cheers
Sean

Hahaha Mark yip I have a reasonable idea of the difference.
On a more serious note please have a look at my series in this forum section on this site on the "Great White Fleet".
