I have just bought myself the Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Dreadnought 1915 edition.
I have not built a model ship for years and the last time I think I used a brush and enamel paints.
So if I use an airbrush what are the best acrylic paints?
also looking at some models others have made they don't seem to have any blast bags on the main guns,did she have any blast bags during the war?

Would also like to know what colors I should purchase?

Welcome back to the bench Karl! Good questions! While I am little help with the blast bag question to start with, some direction with the acrylics...Vallejo Model Air is one source...Life Color the other. While I use Vallejo most of the time, Lice Color is excellent and they do have set specific to the Royal Navy. If you head over to Airbrushes.com and look under the Life Color tab, you should be able to find something to fit the bill.

I just noticed the kit contains photo etch rails but only for the upper structures but not the lower deck handrails,how silly is that more money spent.

Tat is unfortunate about the PE, especially at the cost of the kit alone. I know there are a number of small add-on sets out there...even some in a decent price range. Also some inexpensive RN generic railing would accommodate the kit quite nicely. Enjoy the build...looking forward to seeing what you can do with it!

Well for once Todd I'm going to take my time,with most of my model builds in the past I always want to get it finished and that leads to rush jobs and bad construction and painting
