Not sure where to place the boot stripe. I know it represents the waterline , but how far up from the keel is it? If you can help , please respond in actual dimensions ( 1.5 inches etc.) I've looked and looked for this info. Guess I'm not looking in the right places . Any help would be nice. Thanks

According to my E-Book from The Floating Drydock, the waterline is 34'7 1/4". In 1/200 scale it comes out to 2 1/16". The e-book has a pic of Iowa during WW2 and the top of the waterline is at the 36" draft number at the bow. The e-book also states that the boot topping was 4' tall. Hope this is of some help to you.

Forgot to add that if the top of the boot topping is 36", in 1/200 scale it would be 2 3/16" from bottom of hull.. If the bottom is at 32', it would be 1 15/16" from bottom of hull. Not sure how correct the height of the kit is as it appears the boot topping kinda sits a little high. Maybe more knowledgeable persons will chime in.
