Modeling ADHD has hit me. Despite what's currently on my bench, I needed something different. Something reasonably quick, but will allow for detail work. (and a first figure????)

I've selected Italeri's 1/35 MTM Barchino.

The bits and pieces:

And the beginnings:

Pretty much need to let the hull dry. The two part by the rubber bands are not glued in yet - there strictly to help 'form' the tub.

Tomorrow I'll clean it up and prime once the sub-assemblies are put together.

Hi Mike,

This is an unusual, even obscure subject - it reminds me of the Japanese Shinyo suicide speed boats. Looking forward to watching it come together!

Interesting Mike, I found the following clip on youtube showing your model in 1:1. I assume you have to make the figure sit in the boat standing tall is no option

I haven't seen one of these before. An interesting concept. I wonder what brave souls "volunteered" for this.

cheers

Now that is something different...will follow with interest.

Do you plan a static display of this model or will it be set
in a seascape in action?

Cheers,

These scouts were born in the First World War,and have always been really volunteers, in fact not only, they were the Elite, of all the volunteers only a few were taken, they were similar to teams like the Navy Seals, the best and bravest man the Italian navy can put on the field, also the tecnology of the various Maiale,Barchino esplosivo,Motoscafo d'Assalto,Motoscafo Turismo Ridotto,X-Mas ... etc ... was the best and they were all systems designed not to lose the crew, they were not Kamikaze were special forces, Italy in this field was at the forefront and they were all systems designed not to lose the crew ... they were not Kamikaze were special forces

This is probably the bravest and most secret Italian mission of the entire war, the British discovered it all just ended the war

It'll be a static display Joe. I'll beef up the details by the explosive charge and display the cover in the open position.

A whole lot of 1:1 modeling in the kitchen (floor to ceiling, wall to wall) that kept me off the bench.

I did manage to destroy a key part to the "explosive" cargo, so....it's buttoned up.

Some sanding, couple more parts, dash needing decals, then a good re-prime, followed by the final coat followed a satin finish.

Think I got some of my mojo back.

Good to see some progress Mike,

Interesting little beast, glad you've got your mojo back.
