With the Z18 commissioned, time to fill an empty slipway.

I don't recall seeing a build of one of these blogged, so it is about time. Larger more capable vessel than the more numerous Flower class, but not very well known, except, possibly, for their appearance in the Film "The Cruel sea".

With a bit of luck, will lay the keel over the weekend. have not decided exactly which ship yet, doing a bit of research on camouflage and their histories.

Cheers

Si

The kit is the usual Resin / white metal / etched complete kit.

Well Portchester Castle was the ship used in the movie, so why not her Simon? You can then say you have a movie star in your dock yard.

Good thought Chuck,

I was looking at those named after castles in Kent, my home county, unfortunately no Dover Castle & Walmer Castle, Hever Castle and Sandgate Castle were all renamed and transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy.

Might just do that.

Watch this space.

Apologies for the tardy reply, and lack of progress, I will get on with this soon.
