Hi ... I've got a couple of questions about Revell's 1:48 PCF kit.

1) Does/did anyone make an aftermarket interior for it?

2) A man - yesterday - in an email - told me that the kit needs a lot of work done to it in order to depict a PCF that saw action in Nam because the kit was based on pre-production drawings.

What's required in order to make it more accurate?

I see that there's a 1:48 Mark XVII twin .50-cal mount on SHAPEWAYS as well as a 1:48 "over/under" 81mm mortar/.50-cal mount too.

3) What radar did the PCFs carry?

Hey Tim!
Biggest issue are oversized handrails, grab rails, horrible twin 50 mount, and no interior. I purchased the first re-release several years ago and started removing molded on railings and grab irons on the pilot house and attempted to scratch the 50 mount while trying to improve the guns themselves as well. Also at the time there really wasn't a good source of interior photos available at the time. I wasn't really pleased with my efforts, but now with the great products on Shapeways and other aftermarket details, it might be time to pull it out again. I also downloaded the instructions on the previous post. Planned on using those to help guide building an interior.

As did I ...

One of these days, I'm going to have mine re-armed and an interior installed. I see there's a 1:48 MK. XVII mount for the twin .50s and a 1:48 "over/under mount as well on SHAPEWAYS.

I wish someone on SHAPEWAYS would do an interior.
