Is there any aftermarket detail, weapons and figures available for this kit? I see there is alot that could be done to a kit of this scale! Sure would be glad to get some help with this.

Cheers,

Garry

There were a couple of PE sets available for it ahile ago from eduard. Othe than that you'd need go and find detail sets for the .50s. As far as figs just any set of Vietman era figs will work. But most of the kit is right the only major grip is the Creww stuff that's missing and the Hydralic lines on the water jets. The latter only an issue if your going to build it out of water. HTH STUG

Azimut (ADV?) did a set of lounging resin figures , not the in-action type included in the Tamiya kit. I have a set I might part with, drop me a PM if interested.

Like Steve said, most of the Verlinden accessories, except the ones with the ground molded in.. , will fit quite nicely.

The radar mast and lights could really use some wiring, and the life saver ring looks much better with a twisted copper wire rope and lead foil wraps.
The searchlight sticking up through the canopy needs an L-shaped handle and wiring, as does the light next to the twin 50's. The tire bumpers for the sides could use holllowing out as could all the mg barrels.

I put 2x M16's on foil mounts inside the cockpit armor, after looking at Apacolapse Now.

There are detail pics in an old Verlinden magazine of the engine compartment but that was beyone my abilities.
Still, I won a few awards with the kit 6-8 yrs ago.

I've had this kit on my to build list for a few years.
What I've been looking for is pics of the cockpit area.
Anyone know of any?

For good referances of the PBR, watch the movie "Apocalyse Now". It shows great shots of the PBR since most of the movie is shot on and around a PBR. Great flick. I used the movie as my referance for mine. I even built it as the one from the movie. Here's mine:
