Howdy Mark,

Well apparently we both suffer from the same peculiar 'fetish'! I am EXTREMELY happy about this news!!!!!
And, to tell you just how much I've wanted one of these babies (along with all of the other BWN boats) I have had the plans for scratching one of these buzzing around in my head for ages.......

AND......look at the price they are planning on selling these puppies for! "...Prices will range from $149.00 to $199.00 ... Holy Mackeral! With the recent prices of dandy Trumpeter releases hovering very close and above the $100.00 mark, picking one of these up for just a little more is even better news.

Needless to say, I'll be contacting them immediately about securing one of these!

Hey Garrybeebe?......Remember trying to get me excited about building boats??.....WELL, this kit will definitely be the one to truely push me in the harbour!

Tread

BTW, many thx for the heads up and the link Mark

Me too, me too11 I love Vietnam era Brown Water Navy Craft. If John Carrico is in on them as the article says, they will be great. That is his Monitor pictured. His site is great too, Mobile Riverine Force Productions.

I just wish they were making them in plastic, the price is still pretty steep. But good news all around. I too have plans to scratchbuild these craft, I think Tread and I have exchanged plans actually. Maybe the demand will be realized, and a plastic company will pick these up too.

Great news.

I saw a PACV model, I'm fairly certain it's resin, but for the life of me I can't remember where it was. Stupid pain meds... I think I was on Mission Models when I saw it. It's about time Tamiya's PBR had some company!

Well actually the Tamiya PBR has company for some years (DML's LSSC)

But this new models are most welcome (except for your wallet)

How many new Vietnam Riverine Dioramas will appear? :-)

Holy cow!!

That is AWESOME news!!! Wow --- cannot WAIT for these releases!!!! The cheaper the better of course --- who wouldn't want to build multiple variants (and if I am not mistaken, the big howizter was also used atop a variant of the Marine LVT in Vietnam...!

Hopefully they will also have a PACV kit on the horizon!

Does anyone have any of this company's other releases...? I wonder what the quality and ease of construction is like (resin kits can be a real bear and can require you to be as much an engineer as a modeler!)

Woof! Great news!!

Aloha,

Allright guys I expect to see some serious dioramas here. Ya'll need to start learning how to make realistic water and grade "A" vegitation.

Does anybody know that status of these kits...? Haven't seen 'em on the Squadron site so, no doubt they are delayed or the deal has fallen through...

Hopefully, just production delays!

OK, Steve, it's my pleasure to present a Vietnam boat diorama named "VC River" built by "Art Instructor". Please see whether the water and wake is realistic :
