Hi Guy's
I''m looking for any interior reference of ANY kind on the VietNam Riverine "Monitor". Of particular interest is the bow turret containing the 40mm Bofors. Also any pics of the 20mm turret and gun mount.
Pictures of hatches, crew stations, ammo stowage etc. would be most helpful.
Thanks in advance
Chuck

Carface,
Check out this previous thread It is all about Monitors. You can also do an internet search for Monitors or Brownwater Navy and come up with lots of info.

Here's a couple sites I found with some descent pics of the Monitor:
Mobile Riverine Forces
Monitor
Monitors
Google's Images

I hope some of these are helpful.

Hi,
Viking Models had a 1/35th scale Monitor kit in resin a couple of years ago but I'm not sure if their even in business anymore.

The DML Light Seal Support Craft (LSSC) may also be still available out there. This is a good kit with lots of dio possibilities. It also comes with a crew and the DML Vietman SEALs kit. I have built a dio of one picking up the crew of a downed UH-1C. Here are some photos of the dio.

Nimix does an excellent Monitor kit; Tamiya does the Pibber; Dragon does/did the LSSC light seal support craft, and Jack does the Watusi (not with just anyone now mind you!)

Ahoy and avast ye, dude!

Be advised, the Nimix 1/35th Monitor kit is VERY expensive --- I had to save up my paper route money (just kidding...at least about the paper route) for a while to purchase it. I've been waiting about three weeks for it to arrive from Spain. I will post a mini out of box review as when it arrives. Keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!!

Much Aloha,

Johnny B.
