I'm building the Dragon 1/72 LCM(3) dio kit right now as a "warm-up" to building a 1/35 LC of some sort. I don't know enough about the various kits to know which is best. I'd like to soon after add a Sherman to the 1/35 craft, but not sure if i will or not.

Anyway, any opinions or suggestions?

Thanks, guys. Your help here is amazing !

Well, as you obviously know, there are two possibities in 1/72nd scale, DML or Trumpeter. The latter, is considered a little 'off-scale' in some quarters, being a little on the large side... However, as I imagine you're now thinking 'bigger', here's your first port of call:

This is a comparison review of the two 1/35th scale kits. Now, yes, you can 'theoretically' load it with an M4, but in reality, the LCMs were rarely used for this - principally they landed lighter vehicles, troops and supplies. Most AFVs were landed from the LCTs. Should you want one of these you can get one , here:

Thanks for the lead on the comparison article, Jim. That's exactly what I need.

And i think i'll have to skip the LCT for now -- a bit pricey, i think

Thanks again,

Hi Ricky

Jim as given you a good starting point for your decision.
I would go for the Italeri LCM(3) - my opinion
and change the cargo vehicle (I think you got the Airfix LCM(3) sindrome, as most of us, for seing their LCM for to many years)
