Greetings all,

I thought I'd keep the markings for the 2nd boat simple. As it will be a British Boat the deck arangement will be different so I think this will give enough of a contrast.

Any thoughts

Cheers

Hi Gunny,

Thanks for that. I'd seen them with a kinda wave line down the side but ..... :-) :-) :-)

Here's some updates of work I did last night. Might have gone a bit OTT with the damage on the port side???? However, it's my intention to hang a scramble net off each side so ...... ?????

I've painted the well a much lighter colour on this on and was thinking of leaveing the Top of the Well the same, give it a slightly different look???

Any thoughts so far??

Cheers

Naw, looks good, mate!
I really like the way that your boats look "used", Al. . .thanks for the update!

OK mate, I'll press on.

While I'm on the subect I'd like to add a boat number to the front and back of the wheelhouse. I have the LCM number on the bow, but wanted to add some additional markings.

Could I use eithe a red 51 surrounded in white or a white 40 on a black background. I've see similar markings on small LCTs. Could I also use a white X on a black background for any purpose???

Would the American Boats have flown the Stars and Stripes and would there have been any kind of marking on the wheelhouse, A. B. C etc? If the American Boats did fly the flag would the British have done the same as I know from a previous enquiry that they didn't fly the White Ensign on LCM 3's.

Any thoughts

Cheers

Greetigns all,

Hi Gunny,

Some more pics. I've used some of my rope ladders for the first time, made some scramble nets (need painting) and added the British Style Ladder.

Still lots to do. I'm not sure about the sides, my thinking is to repaint them and start all over again!!

Any thougts??

Cheers

Oh, any thought on some markings for the wheelhouse?

Looks really good Alan. With your love of 1/35 boats and the really nice job you've done on these, you should look into doing a USN Pacific LCM. I've seen them with a steel roof added to the wheel house. And the camo. Look into it. Could be something for Leyte campaign.

later...Gator

Hi Kenny,

Another one, don't go putting ideas into my head. :-) :-) :-)

Now if there was a new LCP (R) or a Salvage Boat or one of the smaller LCTs or an new LCA ,I could see several of those in my life :-) :-) :-)

I'd have to skip on the LSTs though, I needed to live in a large warehouse
:-) :-) :-) .

A few years ago a friend bought me HMS Belfast, but the scale was too small for me to work with so I passed it on to someone who wanted to have a go. Never saw the finished kit I think he gave up :-) :-) :-)

I must take a trip down to London as she is moored in the Thames and get a bunch of pictures for you guys.

When I was very small, and Britain still had a Navy, they used to visit Bangor each year and there was always a trip around at least one of the ships moored off Bangor. I was a long time ago, but it ws a real treat for a small boy.

Back on topic, markings anyone???

Cheers
