Greeting all,

Well I've got the propellers on and the ramp fitted and I'm just working on the first part of the load for the back of the well and the deck.

Still a fair bit to do but some progress, the chain needs a bit more work and I've got to make some small handles for the wheelhouse door before it gets fitted.

I'll strap done some of the deck load and leave coiled rope on top of other bits as the boats in the process of loading.

The ammo and pallet loads I build some time ago for my other British Boat but as it is going to be carrying DW Bren Carriers I thought I might use them here. Ammo and pallets from Accurate Armour.

The barrels and boxes are from Plus Models, apart from the Rum Ration were barrels still used for supplies in WW2?

Comments and thoughts welcome.

Cheers

Al

Hey Al!
Looking great, as always, mate!
And wooden barrels were most definitely still in use in WWII!!!
So you're still in full accuracy mode!
Keep the updates coming!!

Hi Gunny,

Re the barrels, some clearly have metal bandings, I don't know if it showes too well in the pics but the two small ones have what appears to be a more rope type pitted texture on the bandings?

Any thoughts on what that might be meant to be???

Cheers

Hmmm....
The rope type banding is just that, my friend, except it's woven wire rope, which some barrels were banded with! Good explanation!!

Hmmm. Barrels on a RN LCM. That wouldn't happen to be a wee bit of whisky in that barrel, would it? Or may a few pints of rum? :-)

What ever is in them, they look awesome. Way to go.

later...Gator

Greetings all,

Gunny, thanks for that, wire rope it is then.

Kenny, gota have some Rum for the lads, :-) :-) :-) . I managed to bugger up the panting of the barrels and have to start again, made them tooooooo dark LOL, LOL.

Still if all goes well tomorrow I might get her finished by Sunday. I have a couple of home made crew and a Captian and new crewman on route from U Models I hope.

Once she's done I can start on the Bedford conversion which will be her forward load.

I came across some new items from CMK on Blast Models. The Coal Crane I thought might make a better option for the pier than the Mig one?

Hope it's OK posting this picture,

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.

Cheers

Al
