Hi Guys!

I have been busy building my first ship model and thought to give you guys a little update on the build. Its getting along nicely.

Tryed a little drybrushing and gave it dustcoat with pastels. It looks better in reallife than on the pictures but you will have to take my word for it.

Anyway here are some pictures.
By the way the red dot inside the boat is taken care of.

And some accessories

Pointers and suggestions are always welcomed.

Hi Anti,

Looking good so far. I'd be inclined to leave the dusting until later when you've weathered the deck with some dirt and grime.

I don't know much about how these craft would have look in real life but I imagine the deck corners and groves would have a a fair amount of oil and black/brown grime on top of which would be a coat of redish type dust.

I could be totally wrong but my memory of the conflict is of a redish dust on just about everything. Whether this would apply to river craft I don't truely know.

You could add quite a bit of ware and tear around the edges of the panels and railings and maybe a little bit of chipped paint work here and there

Thanks for the update the boat's coming along very nicely.

Cheers

Al

Thanks guys!

And Alan the weathering is not done yet so still have time to add more wear and tear. And Thanks for the info on the red dirt.

I originally intended to do it without any weathering at all but you know how things go. :-)

Hi Anti!
Looks good, mate!
I agree with Al on the red weathering, try to find some red umber pastels to use when weathering later on in the build. . .one of the last steps, right before you seal 'er up with some clear coat. Keep up the great work, mate, and of course, keep posting those progree pics!
Cheers!
