1. She's all plastic.

2. With the exception of the spark plug wires, she's stock.

I'll be working on water for it this weekend.

Thanks Skipper.

Alright guys. Question. I worked hard to get the bottom to look like she had been beached several times. My original plan is to mount the boat on brass rod to show off the entire boat.

Is this going to look ok?

I think you oughta diorama this one Kenny. Running her up on a beach or ripping across a river or a lake is the only way this one should be shown

Hi Kenny

I have to second Steve!
This would look great on a dio - and with the reference images you have posted before, that should be fairky easy to do.
But than, it's your model! If you think that it should stand on brass rods... After all, this should be fun and you should get the most fun out of it!

Here's my reference photo.

As you can see, when she's weighted down, she runs pretty level. I've found some ceiling tile at work that could be useful to start a water base. I'll need to rout out a hole for the hull and then make a decision.

Gator,

Can't wait to see the completed project. Curious to see what you do with it.

Ahoy mates.

Started working on the water today. I've got the main part on the base (the boat is just placed in) and I'll paint it up.

Then I'll set in the boat and carefully add the bow wake. The water is my favorite material, white tub and sink caulk.

Comments welcome.

Gator,

You should make a video clip and send it out to us. If you make it into a WMI or AVI file I can play it on my palm pilot. Kinda like a class.....Gator Modeling 101. I'd sign up.

A step by step would be great, I have no idea how to make the water. I've read skippers article but I geuss I'm dense because I'm just not getting it.

Ahoy mates.

Here's the update photos.

Once I get the figure finished, I'll be able to mount the boat and build up the bow wakes and rooster tail with more caulking.

I am not sure about the drybrush kind of effects you have been doing on the water but the ripples are tops

Ahoy JB.

I searched the web until I found a photo of the wake from the motor at just the right angle. I do need to make the churned up water caused by the motor. I'll post the photo I worked from tonight.

Hi Kenny

I have to concurr with JB
The dry brushing with white always looks fake, because you'll get white in places were it should be shades of blue/green/(read water colour).
It's best to apply mixed colours and blend them instead of trusting in the old white drybrush

Hi Frank
Practise a little - once you'll get the M.O. right - you're launched!
Or is it something about my writing/explanations? If this is the case, please ask

Never give up on a model

Skipper,

It's not the writing it's my work place making me work. For some reason they think work is more important than my hobbie???? go figure.
