In War history, the function of music in war has always been twofold; a way of communication and commanding and a pyschological weapon like the drums on the battlefield in earlier periods or lately a relaxing method behind the frontlines. BRAVO-6
first released Delta Blues
with two soldiers playing music on Vietnam War...and now Vladimir Demchenko
sculpted another trio for World War II.
B6-35112 US Tankers in the Mood
includes three tankers in typical clothing playing music with different instruments.
packing & casting
Figures come in standard light brown cardbard box labeled with a photo of the assembled and painted figures.
Figure bodies are inserted in seperate zip-lock bags, small parts like arms, instruments, bottles and cans are lumped together in another bag.
Parts are cast in grey resin and represented with the casting blocks. Resin quality is good, details are clean and sharp. No casting mistakes or air bubbles on the review samples. Seamlines inside legs and arms need to be cleaned.
Figures are marked in letters depicting A- trumpeter, B- guitarist and C-drummer. They come as full body figures with heads and seperate arms. Faces are sculpted in good facial details and hair, also show nice expressions as having pleasure playing their instruments. Trumpeter wears a cylinder hat and guitarist has a OD knit wool Jeep cap
They all wear one piece HBT coveralls
which was was initially only issued to mechanics and to tankers and was popular due to its comfort and its resistence to dirt. It was designed with a bi-swing back, a belt, two breast pockets, two patch hip pockets. Over the coveralls, they have windbreaker design, zipper front 2nd Pattern Tanker Jacket
. It was a waist cut, medium weight jacket and different than the 1st pattern with two external patch pockets, this one had two hand warmer style slash pockets. Cloth folds of one-piece suit and jacket and details like wool knit collar, waistband, cuffs and zipper are very well defined.
They all have ankle boots and two of them has M38 leggings
laced up outside and with a strap passing under the boot.
Other parts are ;
Arms supplied as single sprues for each figure are nice posed suitable to the instruments they play. M1911A1 in leather holster is given with trumpeters arms and will be added to the right side.
Cylinder hat and trumpet in two pieces for Fig-A.
Guitar for Figure-B.
4 bottles in different types and 2 C-ration cans in different sizes are given to be used as a drum set for Fig-C. Note that you will need two scratchbuilt drum sticks from plastic or metal for this figure.
They can be considered as limited use figures but this is great trio for modelers planning to make a scene with a small band performing to a group of at rest soldiers. As always sculpt and cast are top quality.
