1:700 Warship Figures
Flyhawk 1:700 Warship Figures I

by: Anthony Kochevar [ AJKOCHEV ]

The Figures...

I was really impressed with this set. There is a large variety of figures to chose from. A cursory glance showed sailors swabbing the deck with mops and brooms, celebrating the news that shore leave would be soon, laying down taking a nap, working with tools in their hands and several other poses.

There is even a couple film cameras on a tripod included. I could not figure out what the small numbered PE was until I looked at the instructions. They are life vests, parachutes and airplane wheel blocks.

The vests and chutes have a front and back that get glued to the appropriate person on the fret. This is an excellent set and the etching was flawless. The only thing I would change is to not include so many figures holding flag type signals and repeat a few other poses. However, one can always cut the flags off if need be.

The instructions are really well done. The last part of them give ways to pose the figures on AA and vehicles. These do not come with this set, but the reference provided for the poses is very useful.

SUMMARY
Highs: Large Variety of Poses; Lot of Figures and Equipment
Lows: Tiny Parts(Where did that life vest go?); A Few Too Many Flag Figures
Verdict: This is one set that give you lots of options to populate your ships. Just get a good magnifying glass when you work with it.

I've modeled ships as a teen and started the hobby again in 2005. For some reason I got into the history of the Japanese Navy at this time and started building ships of this navy. I also do N Scale model railroading, reef aquariums and a few video games.
