This new figure from Djiti Production is of a WWII E.T.O. soldier, specifically a U.S. Army 'Red Ball Express' service member. The figure is holding a U.S. standard issue gas can and is sporting a very nice Daisy Mae hat. While there is no additional information provided with the kit, it might be assumed that this figure is depicting one of the many African-Americans that served in the Red Ball Express during WWII. The Red Ball Express was a supply line that served to shuffle materials from the Allies beachhead in Normandy to the front lines.
This resin kit comes in (5) pieces. The head, body, right arm, left arm, and gas can. There was a moderate amount of flash and seam lines around the leg areas particularly. Only the body appeared to have any serious issues though. Some filler may be required for the boot area depicted in the photo I took of it. The details are very subtle and clean. The only criticisms I would raise are that the hands seem small to me and that the pant folds are far too angular. Some sanding or work with an x-acto knife could probably fix that issue for me though. And the hands will be mostly obscured by the gas can as well. Speaking of the gas can it has very nice details as well.
The head, hat and neck area are very well sculpted to my eye. That is were this figure seems to really shine. The addition of the Daisy Mae hat was a good choice for this figure as well.
I was able to quickly tack together the body, arms and head for the purposes of photographing it. I removed some of the flash and shaved away some of the minor seam issues. All in all I would say this is a very simple and straight-forward assembly. The aforementioned filling of the boot area and some of the other seam issues, along with proper fill and sanding for the arms would be the only major steps from here.
A nice figure that might be a hard find for modelers currently. The manufacturer does sell items direct from their Website however and this one is 10 euros.
