A slight deviation from my usual subjects the wwII submarine, but since it was a price aquired at a recent modelcompetition I felt that I could build it without feeling guilty Anyway, a lot of putty and sanding is needed to get a flawless join between the 3 major hullparts - aside from that the build is very straitforward. Here it is in "mint" condition, still a lot of effects work to do and additional painting of the periscopes etc. No inprogress shots as I haven“t had acces to my gallery for the last few weeks. Finally got around working some more on this boat - I“m not going to do more about it, as its not really my ballgame - so I think I will leave it as it is. Cheers/Jan |

Nice work..especially the weathering. I am about ready to weather my Oscar II 1:350 revel kit.
I would like some pointers on how you did your weathering on the black. What colors did you use...a light grey? Also, how did you get the discolor on the panel lines. |

Hi Jack, I used the "oil dot" method - apply a solid coat of laquer to protect the paint job, the ad small dots of artist oil paint - I use colours like white, green, red, blue etc. Wipe it down using a damp brush with thinner until you achive the desired effect. Panellines were done using light gray wash. A black sub would often show saltstreaks and discoloration at the waterline. Congrats on a fine sub build. It really has a lethal look to it. Fine work.
