hi everyone, i havent anoyyed you guys in a long time with another question of mine so here goes, where can i find U.S special forces figures in 1/35 scale. plastic and resin is not a problem. what weapons would they most likely be using, what are the colors for their uniforms? Do they have any specific equipment i should be looking for? and lastly will MIG's specials forces HI-LUX 4x4 be suitable for them in a Dio? thanks calvin ng

You would not be wrong in using those new Trumpeter PMC figures, or this one from New World Miniatures:

We often rolled in civilian or mixed civilian military garb, and only wore helmets if we were taking down a house. (Those low doorways are hellish on the noggin)
As for the Hilux, yes, you can do a Google search and find images of it usually in use by other countries' Special Forces, or by the Jundies. (Yes, for Arab speakers I know the plural of Jundi is Jinud, but we still like to say "Jundies.) There may even be a few shots of it with USSF in it. What you will also find, if you look closely, are many photos erroneously labeled as Hiluxes, when they are in fact Tacomas. Some of them are even my photos which someone decided to borrow. In fact, in 2002, we left the Hiluxes for the AMF to use. We used the Tacoma exclusively as it had A/C and a kick ass stereo system. (We once attacked the village of Sharona with the Knack's "My Sharona" blaring out, so don't discount the importance of tunage.) We did ride with the AMF on occasion in their Hiluxes, as you'll see below, but we kitted out the Tacomas with the commo gear and jammers. Once again, for Googlemaniacs, things have certainly changed since i was there, but in 2002 the Hilux was not the vehicle you see in the Mig kit.

Thanks Rob, i totally forgot about you being in the SF no offense. so if what helmets would you wear if you guys were taking down a house? so there's no official unform right? So i could give the figures an artistic license. The weapons, they interest me the most, do the SF use the M4 carbine or the Scar MKII? Most of the pics on google i see ,they held Russian made weapons. what would be seen in the back cargo area?

There was no "official" uniform for us at the time. We wore DCU's or BDU's depending upon the terrain. I'll have to photograph some photographs to show the the other uniform-jeans and T shirt with body armor. The baseball cap was so prevalent (and so hated by Big Army) that it became an unofficial USSF recognition symbol, as the Taliban were certainly not wearing them. Weapons at first were M4's. We also had M24's and M14's. I occasionally brought along a Romanian AKM. Some guys preferred the "underfolder" which I found was not as comfortable, and therefore not as accurate to shoot.

Items in the back of my gun truck below:
Extra MG ammo. The rectangular cutouts in the wooden platform on the roof were for ready cans, but the'yre missing in the photo as they'd been used up. More in the bed, along with 20 gallons of fuel in specially built racks on either side. Two rucksacks, two go bags, a spare tire, a box or two of MRE's, water, a spare truck battery, and a few qquarts of motor oil.
and some other stuff you can see piled inside.

* Best guns: BLAST Models's M4, M16, and sniper rifles
* Best figures: Infinity Shape's white metal (OOP). Some non-US Ebays sell them. The resin Verlinden ones are the cheapest and look pretty good. What you really want is the vests and body armor and Verlinden makes them pretty well.
* New World Miniatures and MIG Productions make a few figures that may work too.
