Looking good here, as well!! I do like the look of this 4.1" AA guns, even though apparently they have been not all that effective...

*** UPDATE ***

The main turrets, Anton and Berta are finished. Both received some metal gun barrels from Pontos, some range finders from CMK (resin parts with interior parts and etched hatches), and several photo etched parts for further detatils... the turrets Cäsar and Dora will follow in the same way ...

The 38-cm turrets (SK C/34) - "Anton", "Berta", "Cäsar" und "Dora"
The kit parts are mounted, the gun barrels from pontos added. The rangefinders are resin-parts from CMK with ethced hadges. The blast bags are resin parts from Pontos. Then the small etched parts were mounted to each turret...

The 15-cm turrets (SK C/28) - 3 on both ship-sides
These are mounted and also the gun barrels and blast bags from Pontos added. The range finders are also CMK with etched hadges. Several holes are drilled, then the steps on each side / backside are glued in place ...

The smaller anti air guns are built 99% from phtoetched parts from the pontos set. Only few parts of the trumpeter kit were used.... everything else is built with etched parts, brass barrels ,....

Micha,

very nice work again, your turrets look fantastic!

The little quad 20 mm and the army type single look quite stunning with almost all brass design! I'd figure that was some fiddly work...

Cheers,

Thank you very much @ all!

*** UPDATE ***

THE MAIN GUNS ARE COLORED .....

First all turrets and armory were airbrushed with valleyo black primer as a fist kind of shadow. Next light grey was airbrushed on all parts, still keeping the black primer shining through the grey.
After a masking session the dark areas were airbrushed in Nato Black, as well as the gun barrels - both also with airbrush.
The two turrets on each side left and right got a white area airbrushed in the same way as the stripes on the superstructure.
The smaller details were brush painted with a fine brush....

Then all the finished parts were mounted on the ship, still movable.....

Next step: Washing with oil colors in the same way as the other parts of the superstructure .....

Cheers
