Thanks. The grass is just unmade hemp rope, cut to size, and painted with aerograph with a greenish color (olive green may be). It´s good, easy, and cheap of course, try it ¡¡¡¡¡ Under the high grass there is a base of "wild grass" of "Heiki", a great item for dioramas. P.S. The high grass is the same of my lssc and seals diorama, but in a different colour. |

Another fantastic Seal dio from you... your modified water buffalo looks great as does the water -- and of course the clothing.
What's next? |

Thank you very much¡¡¡¡ Next may be a diorama of a OH-6-A vietnam scout helicopter on fly, shooting to an escaping group of North Vietnam Army running soldiers, and been fired (the helicopter) by a VC antiaircraft heavy machine gun post. Just like the story of Captain Hugh Mills told in the Squadron Signal "Gunslingers" about gunships and scout helicopters in Vietnam. A very big proyect....... |

Well Csago, youve really done it with this one, i dont think there is one thing wrong with it, the figures are superb, the water is outstanding, but once again, i think the best thing about this diorama is the foliage, the way you do your grass is second to none, great stuff mate, a truly brialliant job! cheers mate bloody well done! |

Love it! I especially like the SEAL and prisoner duo. That particular scene is very dramatic. The water buffalo is a nice touch as well. |

I had to stare really hard at the stick to see the Claymore attached to it. Nice camouflage of the SEALs and the booby trap. |

Thank you very much¡¡¡ The "Heiki" wild grass is an item for trains modelling, and very good for knee high grass. I used as "background" for the high grass. And the high grass is just hemp rope... You unmade some inches of rope, put it into hot water to loose the torn looking of the fibers, let it dry, put together in groups with the size you like (tied with wire), and paint them with aerograf with some green colour (my high grass is american uniform green colour from Vallejo acrilics). So you can "plant" the groups in your dio with white glue or contact glue (better into a hole), and give them the "look" you want pressing them just with fingers....and the final touch is a drybrush with some light green first and brown in selects spot (for the dry part of the grass). Easy, good, and cheap ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Try it, and good luck... |

god damn, i am jealous that is the most remarkable peice of work i have seen in a long time! Having seen that i am now gonna start sending youall my kits i know when i am out classed !
where did you ge the water Buffalo from, i hvae never seen one of those available anywhere...can you PM wiht a reply on that as well as who makes those figures.
many thanks,
James
Thank you very much man ¡¡¡¡ First, the figures of my dio are from Dragon, VC from "NVA sappers" with spare arms, and the seals from "Seal 2", with a "pirate" head from "Macv-Sog" the upper body of the "pirate" from "Marine Recon", and the beret head from an old "Land rover ambulance" Tamiya kit. Second, sorry, no manufacter for my buffalo, it´s a little transformation from a donkey of the Dragon "German paras with donkeys" or "German mountain troops with mule" ; mainly a thicker body with a 5 mm plasticard between the two halves of the donkey, cut to shape neck and head, more "muscule" and horns with milliput, and "textured" with almost dry putty. May be a "feature" with the buffalo "Making of" someday... |

I have seen a few dios done with it and have been impressed with it. This application of yours is wonderful. Cheers Kevin |

What more can I add .... totally excellent. There are great builders and painters everywhere, but the layout on your two seal dios has lifted it to a higher level. The whole layout is so natural and 100% realistic. Cant wait for the next one! |

Thank you Costas. About the water, is clear poliester resin named "Cronolita" from Plastiform S.L. (Madrid), just resin here and hardener 2% there, no more items. First, seals the bottom of your dio with several layer of varnish, PLEASE NEVER USE FOR BOTTOM EXPANDED POLIESTIREN (white "cork" used for packed everything) BECAUSE THE RESIN EAT IT ALL. You can use natural cork, as I do. Paint the bottom in a green-brown color; then put the hardener into the resin, and some drops of acrilic paint of Tamiya till you like the look of the "water". Put the first resin layer on the dio NEVER MORE THAN 3-5 MM LAYER (or the heat with eat everything), and LET IT DRY 24 HOURS . DO NOT TOUCH. Repeat the operation, but with less drops of paint each time, and the last layer just clear, no paint. The riples can be made in the last layer when the resin begins to pouring.Use a wood stick or something like this, and use natural references. The riples around the legs of my seals were made with a stick "picking" upside down several times, but do no break the resin too much. All the figures, docks, plants, etc.. must be glued prior to the making of the resin. Things like little leaves on the water can be put into the resin when it´s "fresh". THE RESIN DON´T LIKE WATER, SO NEVER PUT YOUR DIO WITH FRESH RESIN INTO THE GARDEN BY NIGHT ¡¡¡¡¡ THE RESIN SMELLS VERY BADLY, SO TAKE CARE, OPEN THE WINDOWS AND USE PROTECTION ITEMS. That´s all folks... Good luck. P.S. IS GOOD TO MAKE A TEST IN A DETACHABLE LITLE DIO TO PRACTIC WITH POURING TIMES. |
