About Matthew Lenton (firstcircle)
FROM: ENGLAND - SOUTH EAST, UNITED KINGDOM

Earliest model memory is a Super Sabre my grandmother bought for me around 1972. Have always dabbled in painting and making things, and rediscovered doing that with plastic in 2008. Vowed then to complete the 30 year old stash, and have made some progress. Hobby goes hand in hand with BBC Radio 3...

IBG makes impressive models! I thought it was 1/35 at first. If not for the thickness of the spare road wheels, there is little obvious to give it away that it is 1/72. It builds up into a beauty.

Very professionally done and simply stunning.

Great video. You did a great job on the build and weathering.

Thanks a lot... The video goes a bit out of focus at some points where the camera auto focuses on the background instead, quite frustrating, so glad to hear you think it looks OK. It was fun to do, and I might do another, though I'll be honest and say I'm slightly disappointed that it's not had that many views compared to the amount of time it takes to create it, even the photo and text reviews I've normally done have had more and they are quicker to produce. (Not sure how some modelling videos gets tens of thousands of views in a single day...)

For what it is worth Matthew it deserves to be among those videos with thousands of reviews.

This was an incredible build and a very good video. Something to aspire to... The autofocus issue can be solved with fixed focus; although you need to be careful about not moving the model out of the focus of the camera. (Use a small aperture with good lighting - it will make your field of depth relatively large.) Alternatively set the autofocus on the center of the field, and keep the model there. The views are a different thing... It seems like you need to get a critical mass (as in everything). I noticed with youtubers: for years they produce videos which only a couple of peolpe see only, and then some (a very few lucky ones) suddenly take off. Claus Kellerman is one example for this: I was watching his funny and explicit tirades about World of Tanks and %ssholes which had about 40 views altogether, and suddenly boom, now he is a famous youtuber who makes a living out of this. There is no real rhyme or reason of who gets to be the successful one... So keep doing these; they are great. We appreciate it.
