Incredible. Incredible. For a watchmakers hands, and eyes, not mine. Well Done...

Great stuff, love the generic sets like the ratlines & the rigging, both will come in very handy. The guns are very nice too, although some of the brass origami my too much for my clumsy fingers. Si

that stuff looks great. I understand the origami statement. I gave up a while back on trying to fold up the deck mounted single 25mm for the IJN. But those mounts for the dual and triple look great. How much and where can i get some. i am in the middle of my 350 Nagato right now and can easily redo the guns

Magnificent sets Brian, I can think of a couple of sets that interest me. Just out of curiosity though: when you build the examples shown do you manage to produce them from a single set or do you take a couple of each fret and keep the best builds? It's a point that popped up when I was building my Fletcher and nearly massacred one of the radars; would have been nice to have a back up of the fiddly parts on the sprue. Cheers, Julian

Thanks and the prices are reasonable too.

Prices are absolutely unreasonable. Charging 13 dollars for most of the items which are nice and useful but mainly generic . 13 dollars for rivet lines, for watertight doors which are 3 (three) dollars on e-bay for the same size. Why alliance put such a price for theirs? Is it a sort of wierd "mantra"? I would buy lots of stuff and decals but surely not for the price they are expecting.
JUL 16, 2011 - 06:27 AM
Side-tracking from the subject matter of the discussion - the ridiculousness of alliance's prices, is being done by unfair argumentative tricks (loading with incoherent information, modifying of opponent's words and therefore changing the meaning and so on), which of course could be expected from those who had the arrogance to demand a rip-off prices at the first place. If one wishes to see the prices on e-bay one can simply look at it on their PC and come to one's own conclusions. One truly useful is to keep in mind that small pieces of tin (that's what P.E. actually is) hardly cost anything at all. A one time pay-off to CAD artist would ensue but probably not for the sheet of mesh segments. Why the "magic" 13 dollars for most of the items?

I considered deleting the previous post, but changed my mind. What a company charges for its product is up to them. If they have a price point that works, they use it. I can say this. AMW PE is top notch. They do not use cheap material and the make sure they have done their home work. Having used just about every major companies PE, I can tell you one thing, you do get what you pay for. There are good sets by some companies and there are rotten sets by some companies. I do not want this to turn into a rant about pricing.

Value for money is subjective, Quite a few of the sheets advertised above I would use, and would enhance what I build, thefore at $13-00 or even £13-00 by the time they get over here they represent good value for money to me. By the by is there a UK importer for Alliance Modelworks, I seem to get "done" by HM Revenue & Customs everytime I order something direct from the US? Si
