Kit Used-Blue Water Navy (Now Yankee Modelworks) USS Farenholt (DD-491), full resin kit

The kit is built mostly OOB, but I did use Classic Warships' 1.1" mount, and their 20mm mounts, along with brass rod for the mast. I painted it using Badger paints, and added Preiser 1/350th scale resin figures (6 in total).

About Devin (Devin)

I started modeling young, when my father bought me a semi-tractor kit around the age of 6. The real modeling started after Star Wars came out in 1977, and then when I got interested in WWII in my early teens. Great looking build. With builds like that you just fall in love with the "Tin Cans". What camo scheme was that? Look quite different.

I do believe that it's one of the wilder sides of Measure 12 modified...

Yes, that's a very unique take on Measure 12, Modified. When I painted that I wasn't able to find much information on the pattern, the starboard side is pretty much guesstimation on my part. I think I could have also gone more gray than blue with the colors, but considering Farenholt was my first ever resin ship, and only the second model I had built in over 10 years, I'm quite pleased with how she turned out. I keep hoping that Trumpeter or someone will do a 1/200 scale kit of the Benson class so I can tackle that paint scheme on a larger scale.

Hi Devin Congrats on your built and especially on your Measure painting! It's a odd ball and it really makes a very interesting scheme! Keep us posted on future (current) projects! Cheers, Skipper

I've got some photos of a diorama that I built which I'll be sending along within the next few days. My current project is a 1/96th scale American Civil War monitor, USS Weehawken. Here's a shot from our NJIPMS meeting last Friday. She's right at 23" long, and since this photo the lower hull red has been applied.
