No-Guns Allowed Campaign Wrap-up

  • No Guns Allowed Campaign Wrap-up
All we need is an idea!
Harry Abbott (Harry_at_BFM) started to spread the word about a Campaign, where the models depicted shouldn't have any guns!
This was the genesis of the No Guns Allowed Campaign.

And as an incentive, Harry was giving away one of Battlefleet Models catalog items as prize, to the winner of the one week voting system.

That honor was given democratically to the 1/700 JSDMF Icebreaker Shirase, by Rui Matos, aka skipper.

As with other campaigns, there were highs and lows, but since this was a "small duration" campaign, compared with some year long ones, members kept a good focus with their builds.

A good variety of unusual models were finished, including two scratch built projects:
- 1/700 USCG Tarpon, by Bruce Simard, aka Frigate;
- 1/35 german WWII river raft, by Jesper, aka SGTJKJ.
and also a very unusual and dramatic 1/35 RAF Dinghy by Christer Johansson, aka Roy.

Ratios... Statistics, statistics....
This campaign had 24 enlisted members, of which, eight finished their projects in due time.
And here they are listed, in no particular order, with the respective finished model identification:

Murdo with a North Sea Trawler;

Roy with the RAF Dinghy;

SGTJKJ with the German Raft;

Frigate with the USCG Cutter Tarpon;

wildspear with the Hospital Ship USS Consulation;

grayghost666 with the only sail ship, a Whaler;

Freighter with the Hamburg Maru;

skipper with the Icebreaker Shirase

Congratulations to all that finished another successful campaign, may these serve as a driver for other members to finish their projects in time (this is also to me!). Also again, many thanks to Harry Abbott, from Battlefleet Models for sponsoring this Campaign!

Also important, was the fact that (fortunately*) for work reasons, Harry had to drop the helm of the Campaign, that was taken over by Mark Smith, our Gunny, to good port!

Note from the Editor on the (fortunately*): Harry, I am very happy that you had to quit managing the campaign, because of "pouring resin" issues! It means that your works are excellent, appreciated and are selling a lot!
