USS Arizona BB-39

  • USS Arizona BB-39
This is the DML/Dragon Special Edition USS Arizona. It has a brass PE set, brass barrels and also some strange "rubberish" parts.
The mooring piers and the tug were scratchbuilt. Eduard PE figurines populate the scene.

This was my second 1/700 ship.

Love the display, very active with the tugs and mooring, and that water is prety wet looking1 Arizona looks active and proud.

Another very colourful and very beautiful subject from our friend Rui! the way the tan tones of the upper part of the ship contrast with the very dark blues of the sea makes it a very engaging compositions. This and i have been noticing Rui is really becoming a master at balance. All the different elements are scattered in a very artisitic way throughout the scene, and then the title of the boat is designed to be a part of the composition rather than just something glue evenly. All in all another very fine build from a man that understood that the sea and the sky can play with the colour of dioramas! JB

Thanks guys, for the incentive! Some things should have been made differently, but this was only the second one, so there are a few mistakes... Not on the way things are displayed, not the composition, but mainly on the Arizona - but that is all about the "Learning Curve" that we all pass. Once again, thank you - I am very honored by the comments of excellent master builders! Rui

Nicely done, another bookmark for me... and I appreciate the detailed comments by JB, feels like an art teacher showing us where to look when appreciating a build. Cheers!
