"MSW Crew-mate Mike Taylor (Modelguy2) shares a fine portfolio of his latest 1/350 dio, focusing on Hasegawa Models Japanese Antarctica Observation Ship, SOYA!"
Base Kit #40064, Antarctica Observation Ship SOYA , w/white metal snow cars, built primarily OOB, with the addition of Hasegawa's dedicated photo-etch fret (complete with pemguins!). The build replicates a photo in the Japanese text booklet that comes with the kit.

Very cool Mike. I love the penguins peeking around the bow of the ship.

This was fast!!
The dio came out really good and you have mastered the PE set - the penguins are definitely a nice touch, as is the dirty snow/ice traffic area. I have the booklet and you have successfully replicated the photo, and the ice is also convincing!
Congratulations Mike, and I am looking forward for your next project!

Wow, beautiful work! I also have the book and yep, you brought it together very well. I only have one complaint- pleeeeease give us some higher resolution pictures! They're coming out very choppy and pixelated for me, and I'd love to be able to get a clearer view of your amazing work!
