USS Arleigh Burke DDG-51

  • DDG-51
Al developed this kit for BlueJacket Shipcrafters.

It is 1/192 scale, about 31.5 inches long. It is a traditional wooden ship model kit with contemporary upgrades:
- carved basswood hull;
- laser-cut superstructure components;
- resin;
- britannia fittings;
- two frets of photo-etched brass (about 650 individual pieces on them).

Al Ross also made brass and aluminum masters for the fittings, carved the master hull, did the artwork for the laser and photo-etch, drew the plans, and wrote the instruction manual.

The display model is built from production pieces, so... everything fits!
