"Achtung Schnellboote!"

"MSW Crew-mate Jeff Herne (Angry_Ensign) sends us a gallery of images of an amazing, nearly 100% scratchbuild of an S-100 Schnellboote in this MSW "On Display" Feature!"

Built for a commission, the hull is MicroGlass (www.microglass.net), and the fittings, except for the anchor, 20mm guns and bitts, are all scratchbuilt...everything. The guns are Accuscale, a company that went out of business about 30 years ago...I put nearly 500 hours into the model, (and I should have put closer to 1000...)

What's to say...been there, done that, got the stupid T-shirt to prove it. I've ran an air museum, worked for FSM, started my own mag, and I run a little internet webstore called Modelerswarehouse. In my spare time, I try my best to have something that resembles a life, but I find it easier to lock ...

Hi Jeff You have done a good job! It's always challenging to have a built like this! This is a good test bed for the coming Italeri S-100 Schnellboot Thanks for sharing Rui

Fantastic work Jeff, it amazes me how you can put so much effort into a model built for someone else. Commission work is something I'll never understand!..., I hope your client appreciates the hard work and compensates you accordingly. thanks for sharing Jeff, Frank

Although a little I've built a Heller Sail ship back in 1993~94 (can't remember properly) but what I have asked for it ($$$) was as starters considered too high, and the schedule for it very tight (after 1 and 1/2 months I delivered the beast, with home made ratlines and full rigging) and although the customer thought it was very good, I felt I was under payed for all I've done - so, this was the first and last model I've built for anyone else!!! I prefer to take my time, have the built the way I like and have a good model (for my standards) that makes me feel good and keep on liking this hobby - and for me, this is a HOBBY! So, I always admire the persons who built to others and let their "sons" go away like this Rui
