USS Alabama vs. K-432 Konovalov

"MSW crew-mate Somboon Vongveeranonchai (eddiev200) sends us his next submarine project, gallery style, in this "On Display" Feature!"

Model Details: This is my third 1/700 scale submarine kit in my collection. This is Dragon Models Limited, kit #7002, "USS.Ohio vs. Soviet Alfa".

The models were build straight out of box, nothing much to say with this kit, except the fit of hull halves was bad. Every submarine of this DML series has this problem, and if you want to build the vessels in this series, get ready for sand paper!

For the Ohio class, I designated as "SSBN-731 USS Alabama", which appeared in the movie "Crimson Tide", and the Soviet Alfa, I designated as "K-432 Konovalov" which appeared in the movie either "The hunt for the Red October".

Hi Somboon Your dual subs features are coming out really nice! I understand the hull fitting issues, but you have managed to solve the problems very well! Continue into the next project, and on the next one, try to make some water BZ Rui

Hi Thank you very much Rui. Making the water on display is the most I afraid of, Rui. I use to make it one time from wall putty, but it's look so funny. So I think making the water it's a tough work to deal with. (so far)
