Somewhere in the Pacific...

LST operations in Southern Pacific...
While building my latest diorama "Getting ready for another Mission" I have used some 1/700 GMC truck from Skywave/Pitroad US Navy LST set.
Of course, this is the result of my experimentation on trying to make a different naval diorama, without a pier, buildings, but trying to make a small scene full of action, without being overdone.

Materials used to make this diorama:
- Skywave/Pitroad US Navy LST set (trucks from three sets);
- Battlefleet Models resin Observation/Barrage Balloon set;
- GMM fine raillings and ladders (from the spare box);
- L'Arsenal single and double 40mm Bofors guns;
- Eduard 1/700 Figurines;
- Tauro Models paper flags.

Scratchbuilt items:
- Beach with Das Pronto modeling Paste;
- Palm Trees / Coconut Trees with brass wire (various thicknesses), Tamiya Tape (trunk) and Aluminum Foil (Leaves);
- Guns tubs (all of them) and some superstructure parts with Evergreen Plastic Card and PE sets "borders";
- Vertical ventilators from aluminum tube;
- Sea is artists watercolour paper, painted with acrylics and with several coats of gloss varnish;
- Wave is Gel Medium (Gloss).

hey Rui, sorry I've got to be critical on that one! What i see here is not a diorama, but some pictures. Those are so much sunlit that it just destroys most of the details and therefore shows a not so accurate vision of your diorama. i personnaly prefer the one you took at your show where IO indeed could see that you did again a very nice work

Hi Jean-Bernard You have to wait for me to upload the remaining 15 photos (my usual 360º photo shoot and overall/detail views) until the gallery issues are solved These are the dramatic ones Stay tuned... Rui

Rui, lovely! Very "Pacific" and a good scene. Every detail is nice, from tape and foil trees (works great!) to ocean and beach and ship weathering. Great stuff!
