This is the Pit-Road 1/700 scale model. I think I did a review on this. It was a great kit. Tom’s Modelworks IJN sub photo etch was used as well as a few scratch built parts and stretched sprue for rigging.

USS Balao…

This is a Hobby Boss kit in 1/700 scale. Photo etch railing was bits and pieces from the parts box and stretched sprue for rigging.

U-Boat VII b…

This is a Hobby Boss kit in 1/700 scale that I did a review for. Photo etch railing was bits and pieces from the parts box and stretched sprue for rigging. The hardest part was removing the modeled on railings. I modeled it after a few things I liked that I seen on U-Boats and not anyone in particular.

I've modeled ships as a teen and started the hobby again in 2005. For some reason I got into the history of the Japanese Navy at this time and started building ships of this navy. I also do N Scale model railroading, reef aquariums and a few video games.

Seeing work like this always makes me want to put away the wingie things and armor, and open a few of my 1/700 kits. Great work, and thanks for the inspiration. Cheers, Mike
