Very nice job Kostas. BTW, I know bugger all about these old battlewagon's or their history, but isn't that a Union Jack flying from the bow of a Russian ship?

Should've gone to specsavers!! The colours are reversed from the Union Jack, (blue saltire outlined white on a red ground instead of red saltire and cross outlined white on a blue ground! )

I missed the fifth photo, the closeup of the bow, I can see the difference now.

Wonderful work, especially the wood grain on the decks. Perhaps the vertical colors are closer to what sister ship Slava looked like in 1917? --Karl

Very nice job Kostas. She really stands out among the more modern ships. I've got that kit in the stash and one of these days will get around to building her. Doing some dry fitting it seems like the deck at the bow is going to be a challenge. Did you find that to be the case?

Yes, there were a few places ,amongst them the deck that needed a bit of putty .This was supposed to be a fairly simple built , and there is a lot of room for super-detailing .As always building on commission is a compromise between money/time invested.I personally would have replaced the whole deck with balsa wood re scribed, as the planks are too over scaled, replace the barrels as i suspect they are too overscaled as the thickness goes at least, improve the boats as there are too many of them and add a lot to the overall detailing of the ship etc.I forgot to say i used the GMM set if i remember well which is a must if you want to have a half descent result as the kit is a bit bare from smaller details.
